What is the prospect of B. Tech Biotechnology in today's market?

I just cleared my 10+2 in Science with 80% in PCM. I have been called for the counseling of VIT ( in Bio with ranking of 5831). I am interested in Biotech but I am not too sure about its prospects. Should I go for it in VIT if I get the chance or should I wait for the AIEEE results? Also what is the kind of money I can expect from the jobs that are available in Biotech? Please help.
